We're entering year one, week one of menu planning, gentle readers.
It's been a great year and we're excited to keep pushing forward, trying new foods and sharing new things with you.
Girlfriend spent Sunday with a terrible headache, so I'm on menu planning duty (which is OK, since I do most of the cooking anyway).

Happy Anniversary, Menu Plan!
Gentle readers, this marks the one year anniversary of menu planning.
It's amazing to see how far we've come since we first started menu planning fifty-two weeks ago.
We'd love to do some fancy planning here, something amazing and special, but, the fact of the matter is that we started menu planning because we are two very busy people on a fairly tight budget.

Menu Plan: Week Forty-Eight
Gentle readers, as you can tell by our lack of postings last week - it was a CRAZY BUSY WEEK!
Your MatchGirl started a new freelance gig, which means heading into Manhattan during the day and we went to see Pulp not one night, but, TWO! On the weekend we had a date night and attended bachelor and bachelorette parties. We stuck, mostly, to the menu plan, but, then again, there was not much on it. We knew we'd be out.

Menu Plan: Week Thirty-Seven
Last week was a crazy, busy week. We made it through our menu plan, though - even entertaining on Friday night (with the awesome sausage and tomato risotto from Smitten Kitchen - will definitely be making that again!). And Sunday's roast chicken will serve me well as I lunch at home through the beginning of the week.
This week is a bit off, with evening meetings for me and friends in town from California, so we're not exactly sure where each night will take us. We've decided upon meals that will feed us well and reheat well if we have some busy, late nights.

Menu Plan: Week Thirty-Five
Ah, gentle readers, we've come to week thirty-five of our menu planning. It's been a crazy few weeks here, for Boyfriend and your MatchGirl, so this week's menu plan is chock full of comfort foods, some already near-made in the freezer, and simplicity.
You'll see a variation on our favorite kale dish hit the plan again this week, and we'll be cooking big to eat leftovers for lunch (we're penny pinching big time) and at the end of the week, when we're truly to exhausted to cook!
Enjoy!

Tribes
Thursday means Boyfriend is writing!
Tribes is a term I don’t really use. It has some negative Burning Man-esque connotations in my mind. It is a pretty good way to describe our extended non-related family however. As I mentioned in an earlier post this will be my first Christmas away from not only my family but also away from my … um … tribe. I can’t really get down with that word, so from here on out I will use the term that I have always used and say my crew.

Seating Arrangements: Holiday Dinner
Gentle readers, your MatchGirl and Boyfriend are quite thrilled about our Christmas dinner party. And a little nervous at the same time!
I mean, where will the people sit (and how should we seat them) in our little Greenpoint apartment!
