Last week was a crazy, busy week. We made it through our menu plan, though - even entertaining on Friday night (with the awesome sausage and tomato risotto from Smitten Kitchen - will definitely be making that again!). And Sunday's roast chicken will serve me well as I lunch at home through the beginning of the week.
This week is a bit off, with evening meetings for me and friends in town from California, so we're not exactly sure where each night will take us. We've decided upon meals that will feed us well and reheat well if we have some busy, late nights.

To Try
As we're so committed to meal planning, and as we hate to be too bored by what we eat, Boyfriend and your MatchGirl are always on the lookout for new and yummy ideas to add to the menu plan.
I've written before about how we often turn to Gojee for inspiration, when we know we've something in the fridge we need to use or when one of us is craving ... something ... but we're just not quite sure what to meet. And, of course, we each have our favorite go-to bloggers and recipe websites when we just want to peruse and find some amazing inspiration.

Menu Plan: Greatest Hits
As you know, gentle readers, Boyfriend and your MatchGirl have been menu planning for thirty weeks now.
Wow.
And in all that menu planning, we've had some winners and we've certainly had some big misses.
Today's post shares the ones we've really enjoyed. The ones that we keep going back to, time and time again.

Recipe: Aunt Addie's Pumpkin Cookies
Fall is in the air and that means it is time to bake cookies!
Every year at this time, your MatchGirl makes her Great-great Aunt Addie's famous (at least in her family) pumpkin cookies.
For you, gentle readers, I have decided to share this treasured recipe.
(Sorry, I don't have a photo of the cookies. As of this posting, I've been super sick and didn't have a chance to bake up a batch for you!)

Inspiration: Ricotta Cookies with Cocoa & White Chocolate Chips
Your MatchGirl found this recipe for cookies made with ricotta, cocoa powder and white chocolate chips. While I'm not actually that concerned about lessening the fat content through the use of ricotta, I'm interested in the texture and the taste.
I haven't had a chance to bake them yet, but I think they'll be great.
What's your favorite cookie?

Menu Plan: Week Four
All right, gentle readers, your MatchGirl knows that you have been sitting on pins and needles wondering how well Boyfriend and I did with keeping up with last week's menu plan. And the answer, is, pretty well!

Inspiration: They Draw & Cook
Though Boyfriend (already) does most of the cooking, those who have been following your MatchGirl's adventures across the interwebs (Unemployed Brooklyn, Hire Me Martha) know that I enjoy spending time in the kitchen, as well.
Perusing the web for some inspiration the other day, I came across They Draw & Cook, a fun website with an image heavy approach to recipe sharing. Definitely worth checking out!

The Written Word
Gentle readers, something that your MatchGirl has a lot of is books. And I love to have a lot of books. Art theory books from undergrad, loads of favorite dog-eared novels, cookbooks with gorgeous pictures and cookbooks with no pictures at all.
