Gentle readers, it's been a long hot and supremely busy summer. And we've had little time for this blog.

But don't worry! Our environment is still precious - we've even been making some changes to make it even more inviting and, ultimately, more practical.

Road Trip: Montauk, NY

To celebrate our one year anniversary, Boyfriend and your MatchGirl took a day trip to Montauk. Here are a few photos from Sunday.

Cats!

As you know, gentle readers, Boyfriend and your MatchGirl have been sitting a couple of cats while their owner travels for work.

To the left, you can see that one of thee furry friends is a big fan of Boyfriend. Or maybe it's the other way around!

After the jump, you'll see the other giving her fiercest roar! Or maybe she's just yawning. It's hard to tell from this angle.

So far, Boyfriend is partial, in case you can't tell, to our black-haired friend. I wonder if this will influence his decision when it's time for us to choose a pet of our own...

After the Hurricane

Sunday afternoon, after the brunt of Irene had passes, Boyfriend and I took a little walk through Greenpoint, into Williamsburg, in search of a Bloody Mary and less than an hour wait for one (understandably, with no public transport, a lot of people were not able to get to their jobs and restaurants that were open were very understaffed).

This weekend Boyfriend and I journeyed to North Adams, MA, for the wedding of my old friend Greg and his beautiful bride, Beth. Even though it poured (torrential rains during the outdoor ceremony!), it was a really great time.

Gentle readers, your Matchgirl is still deeply saddened by the loss of my little cat Jarvis two weeks ago, but Sunday afternoon, while painting the dining area of our new space, I was delighted to see these two friends kicking about the back yard.
