Gentle readers, it's been a long hot and supremely busy summer. And we've had little time for this blog.

But don't worry! Our environment is still precious - we've even been making some changes to make it even more inviting and, ultimately, more practical.

Revelations 20:11 - Part 2

Today's guest post from Boyfriend picks up where he left off last week, talking about his discoveries, revelations and favorites of 2011.

2011 saw some travel and exposed me to some wonderful new discoveries.

New England I have visited most regions in the US. However my travels had, up until this summer, never taken me to New England - the birthplace and former stomping grounds of your MatchGirl. Well, let me tell you I was very impressed with this region. I found a lot of similarity to my native Northern California. (your MatchGirl’s note: except where we were in NH is really old)

Road Trip: New Orleans, Louisiana

The "gone fishin'" sign was up on the blog for the past several days. And for good reason.

Boyfriend and your MatchGirl just returned from a trip to New Orleans, Louisiana.

Road Trip! North Adams, MA

This weekend Boyfriend and I journeyed to North Adams, MA, for the wedding of my old friend Greg and his beautiful bride, Beth. Even though it poured (torrential rains during the outdoor ceremony!), it was a really great time.

Road Trip! New Hampshire

When Boyfriend and your MatchGirl had only been dating a couple of weeks, we took a little road trip to Philly, to meet up with one of Boyfriend's friends and see a band play. It was only a couple of hours, each way, in the car, but that's a lot when you're first starting out and getting to know one another.

Vacationland

Gentle readers, your MatchGirl and Boyfriend spent the weekend apart. It's the first time, since we've moved in together that we've been apart.

I had the opportunity to travel to San Juan with some girlfriends for the holiday weekend - leaving at the crack of dawn (or a little before) on Saturday morning and landing in time to get back to Brooklyn for July 4th fireworks. I was reticent, at first, to go - as the expense was unplanned and as I hated to leave Boyfriend for the weekend.

Suburbia

This weekend, gentle readers, Boyfriend and I went to a housewarming BBQ at our friends' house in Maplewood, NJ. One of your MatchGirl's dearest friends is moving there in a few weeks as well (we got to see their house as well), so Boyfriend and I see loads of weekends stuck in traffic on I-78 in our future. And that's OK.

Firsts: Cross Country Voyage

Gentle readers, your MatchGirl and Boyfriend celebrated a big "first" this past weekend. We made our first big trip out of town as a couple.

Sure, we have a made a couple of day trips in our relationships, but we had yet to take a trip out of town together. But, on Saturday, one of Boyfriend's dear friends got married in Sausalito and your MatchGirl and Boyfriend traveled to the West Coast to spend a few days with friends and loved ones and celebrate this wedding.
