Sharing Chairs
As much as I love showcasing chairs - as much as we still need a new chair for our living room and as much as I have always been real turned on by chair porn ... I think the time has come to end that practice here.
If you want to check out the items that I'd love to have in my dream house, head on over to Pinterest and check 'em out. There are only a few chairs right now, but I'm sure there will be more soon ...

Inspiration: Living Room
Your MatchGirl actually shared this living room on her Tumblr back in May, and stumbled upon it again today. There is just so very much awesome here. Inspirational, indeed!

Seating Arrangements: When and What?
Gentle readers, Boyfriend and your MatchGirl are still on the hunt for a chair for our living room. Nothing will be quite the deal that our little wing chair was (when I inherited it all those years ago), but we still do need a chair.
And with the holidays coming, and my family with them, I feel an urgent need to fulfill that seating need.
It's silly, perhaps, but you know how things are, when you feel your home is not quite in order and you want to do everything you can think of. And for me, having a chair in the living room is a big deal.

Seating Arrangements: Ball Chair
I've kind of always wanted one of these 60s ball chairs. And, hey, this one is lined in pink! Love it.

This chair from furniture company Gingko is pretty cool. Old fashioned, but with a modern twist.

Seating Arrangements: CB2 Parlour Chair
Boyfriend and your MatchGirl have been on the hunt for a comfy chair for our living room for a while now. With circumstances as they are - Boyfriend being laid off for a while (don't worry, he's working now!), so many weddings to attend (flights to book, presents to buy), and the general cost of living in New York City, we can't just buy any chair that strikes our fancy. And while getting a couch was imperative, getting a chair is something we can hold off, for a bit.
That said, how cute is this Parlour Chair from CB2? I think the tangerine color would look amazing with our brown couch and our brown and white walls!

Seating Arrangements: West Elm Tulip Chair
Your MatchGirl went to West Elm in search of curtains the other day (no luck), and stumbled upon this lovely little chair. The display model was the honey color, pictured above, distressed from weeks (longer?) of customers sitting in it, dropping things on it, touching it. And it looked lovely - warmly worn. This chair could definitely be in the running for our new living room chair.
I kind of love it.

Seating Arrangements: Tulip Chair
Every now and then I like to wander over to the Hive Modern website and dream a little dream ...
The Tulip chair is one of those mod dreams. Sigh.

Seating Arrangements: Mesh Chair
At the Met the other day, Boyfriend and I came across this wire mesh chair from the 1980s. Except for the material, it looks pretty comfy, don't you think?

Seating Arrangements: Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair
Gentle readers, your MatchGirl and Boyfriend may be on a budget, but that doesn't mean she can't dream, does it?

Seating Arrangements: Quest For The Perfect Chair
So, your MatchGirl's little wing chair may not have been perfect, but I really loved it. It was cozy and comfy and just the right size for curling up with a book or for making Boyfriend feel like king of the castle. We had no choice but to get rid of it, though.
So now we are on the quest for the perfect chair to accompany our long sought couch. Our budget is a bit different now, as a new chair was not planned. It seems like we will have to get something vintage (aka used), though those, in New York are often just as expensive as getting something brand new.
The negotiations are intense as well as, as stated here before, your MatchGirl and Boyfriend do not always see 100% eye-to-eye on design!

Seating Arrangements: Modern Chair
As your MatchGirl mentioned recently, Boyfriend and I are in need of a new chair.
What do you think if this one, gentle readers?

Seating Arrangements: A New Chair
Your MatchGirl, many years ago, inherited a green velvet wing chair from one of her dear friends (who had owned it for years herself). And, while not my style, per se, I have loved this chair for a long time. When Jarvis was alive, he spent many hours sleeping in it, but, he also peed in it. Though I cleaned it and the smell was gone (and had it professionally cleaned as well) the smell suddenly reappeared as summer is upon us. Try as I might, I can't make the smell go away. So ...
I have decided that we must get rid of the chair.
It's a sad day for me, as I'm overly sentimental... but to clean it will be more hassle, time and money than it's worth. The chair, while it has good bones, is in dire need of re-upholstering and with the intense smell ... we just can't hang on to it till we're at a place to make that happen.
So we're on the hunt for the perfect chair ... you've been warned!

Seating Arrangements: Crate and Barrel Village Chair
While your MatchGirl is generally into more modern designs, I'm kind of digging these bright dining chairs from Crate and Barrel.

I could not be anymore in love with these Thonet chairs! Currently they reside at Vintage Modern just down the block from where your MatchGirl and Boyfriend reside... How cute would they look in our dining nook!
